So often, a working couple relocates to a new
city. It is great when they get a company’s well-furnished apartment to live in.
However, all working couples are not high net worth executives. Some working
couples enter the city for better opportunities.
They work in different companies and look for
renting homes in distant suburbs. If they work in the city, living in the
suburbs is cheaper and that is the best solution. This is the time they are
looking at homes and save to buy a home eventually.
Each area has different rates and deposits. If one has to go through a broker or
an agent, one will have to pay a fee also for him. Sometimes in the classified
columns, one can contact owners directly and avoid brokerage. A rental property
can come furnished or unfurnished. Depending on that the rates also differs.
One should know the rental laws also. In Mumbai, a rental flat is given for 11
months after which the agreement is revised. Some times the rental increases
after the 11 months or it has to be vacated depending on the agreement.
While renting nowadays for security reasons
married working couple find it easier other than singles to get rentals in
residential societies. One has to pay rent every month and forfeiting that
would mean giving interest in some cases. To safeguard them, both the parties
need to clarify the details before hand.
